Young people across the East Riding are set to benefit from a major funding boost following today’s budget announcement by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. A total of £150,000 has been allocated to support community youth projects, reinforcing the council’s commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment for local young people.
Councillor Anne Handley, alongside colleagues, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, which aims to establish a dynamic and engaging Youth Offer throughout the region.
“Young people are our future, and we have so many incredible youngsters with endless potential,” said Cllr Handley. “We are thrilled to support the development of projects that provide them with opportunities to learn new skills, participate in positive activities, and strengthen their ties to the community.”
As part of this investment, a dedicated fund will soon be launched, allowing community groups to bid for financial support. This funding will be directed towards initiatives that empower young people, helping them to grow and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Local organisations are encouraged to keep an eye out for further details on how they can apply for funding and contribute to shaping a brighter future for East Riding’s youth.
This latest commitment underscores the council’s ongoing efforts to foster a strong, connected, and opportunity-rich community for young people, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
