BEVERLEY – Beverley Open Gardens will return on Sunday 24 May, giving visitors the chance to look around a series of private gardens across the town while helping raise money for Dove House Hospice.
Running from 10am to 4pm, the event is being organised by Beverley residents in partnership with Beverley Urban Gardens, known as BUG, and follows a successful first year.
Organisers say visitors can expect a variety of gardens to explore, with each offering something different, from planting ideas and floral displays to quieter, more tucked-away spaces. Some gardens are also expected to offer light refreshments, adding to the appeal of what is shaping up to be a relaxed spring day out.
As well as opening up parts of Beverley that are not usually seen by the public, the event is intended to raise funds for Dove House Hospice, which supports patients and families across the area.
Entry is £5 for adults, while under-16s can attend free with an accompanying adult. Programmes will be available from the Dove House shop in Beverley and from participating gardens.
For anyone with an interest in gardening, or simply looking for an enjoyable local event with a charitable purpose, Beverley Open Gardens looks set to offer both.
