“An afront to our shared values”. Graham condemns Putin as he signs book solidarity

MP for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart, condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and supports the Government’s severe sanctions against Russia.

Yesterday, Graham Stuart MP signed a book of solidarity in the Houses of Parliament to Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Parliament of Ukraine.

With our partners in the EU and NATO, the UK has announced the largest and most severe package of economic sanctions that have ever been implemented against Russia. These sanctions include freezing the assets of Russian banks, businesses, and individuals, banning Russian airlines from landing in the UK, removing port access to Russian-owned and registered ships, and closing Western money markets to the Russian Government and major companies.

Graham Stuart MP

Graham said “Vladimir Putin’s invasion of the free, peaceful, and democratic Ukraine is an affront to our shared values, and I wholeheartedly agreed with the Prime Minister when he said Putin will stand condemned in the eyes of the world and of history.

“My thoughts are with the Ukrainian people during these difficult times, and if any constituents have family members in Ukraine who would like assistance, then please do not hesitate to get in contact with my office.”
