Graham seeks to protect Beverley’s direct London rail link

WESTMINSTER – Graham has called for a meeting with ministers as he pushes to protect the future of Hull Trains and the direct rail link from Beverley to London.

In a statement on his website, the Beverley and Holderness MP said open access operators such as Hull Trains had transformed connections for East Yorkshire and should be protected as rail reform moves forward.

Hull Trains runs direct services between Beverley, Hull and London King’s Cross, giving passengers a straightforward route to the capital without changing trains.

Graham said he wanted reassurance that the service would continue to have a place in the rail network in the years ahead. He has now requested a meeting with ministers to press the case.

His intervention comes as questions continue over the future shape of the rail system and the role of open access operators within it.

For Beverley, Hull Trains has become an important part of the town’s connectivity, linking it directly with London and helping support business and leisure travel alike.

Graham’s message is that this connection should not be taken for granted, and that East Yorkshire’s direct route to the capital should be protected as decisions are made about the future of the railway.
