HULL — Swimmers can rejoice as heated outdoor sessions return to Albert Avenue Pools and Fitness from Friday 2 May, with the much-loved lido officially kicking off its summer season.
Kept at a toasty 28°C, the outdoor pool will run sessions right through to the end of September, including family swims, adults-only slots, and the brand-new twilight swim — a late-night dip under the stars starting at 9pm every Friday.
Opening night features three sessions: a public swim (5.30–7pm), an adults-only hour (7.30–8.30pm), and the twilight swim (9–10pm). Weekends will offer four sessions each day, giving swimmers plenty of chances to enjoy the fresh air and warm water.
Alison Walker, Director of Leisure Services at Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “As we head into the summer, it’s time to turn up the heat in the lido. We’re thrilled to offer more than 30 outdoor sessions a week, including our new twilight swims.”
Prices are £7 for adults, £5 for children aged 3–15, and £20 for a family of four. Under-threes go free. Sessions can be booked online, via the app, or in person.
The lido reopened in 2023 following an £11 million refurbishment and now boasts not just the heated outdoor pool, but a 60-station gym, sauna, and a virtual fitness studio.
Whether you’re up for an early morning swim or a moonlit splash, Albert Avenue is back and better than ever.
