BEVERLEY – A new Indian street food business is due to open at Flemingate in Beverley on Wednesday 22 April, adding another operator to the town’s main retail and leisure destination.
The Savoury Embassy will focus on Indian street food, a style of cooking rooted in quick, high flavour dishes typically served from roadside kitchens across cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. The Beverley venue will translate that approach into a fixed site, with an emphasis on freshly prepared food and a more informal dining experience.
The menu has been structured to cover different points in the day. Lower priced options will be available at lunchtime, aimed at shoppers and local workers, while a broader menu will run into the evening. Takeaway and collection will form part of the offer, with weekday collections from 5pm and availability throughout the weekend.
A notable feature of the business is that it will operate as a nut free kitchen. That is still relatively uncommon in this part of the market and is likely to be a consideration for customers managing allergies.
The business is run by Mukesh Tirkoti, who has worked with Chef Gajender for more than 12 years. The pair were previously involved in Ruthvika Spices Kitchen in North Ferriby. The new venture has been developed with a focus on fresh ingredients and the use of local suppliers where possible.

An open kitchen will form part of the layout, allowing customers to see food being prepared. The concept is intended to sit somewhere between fast casual dining and a more traditional sit down restaurant, reflecting the way street food has been adapted into fixed venues across the UK.
Jason Platten, head of retail and leisure at Wykeland Group, said the business would add a different offer to the scheme’s existing mix, particularly through its focus on Indian street food and its pricing structure across lunch, dinner and takeaway.
To mark the launch, The Savoury Embassy will offer 20 per cent off all collection orders for its first two weeks of trading.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm to 10pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 9pm. The venue will be closed on Mondays.
Flemingate, developed and owned by Wykeland Group, is Beverley’s largest regeneration scheme. Its food and leisure offer has expanded steadily in recent years, with a mix of national operators and independent businesses. The addition of The Savoury Embassy continues that trend, with another cuisine now represented within the scheme.
