With half-term just around the corner, there are plenty of activities to keep children entertained in Beverley, Hull, and the East Riding. Here are ten great things to do this February break to help you keep on top of parenting.

1. Adventure Play Town Hull

Located at the K3 Business Park on Clough Road, Adventure Play Town offers a fun role-play experience for children up to age 7. Special character meet-and-greet sessions will take place at 9:30 am on selected dates:

  • 17th February: Belle
  • 18th February: Bluey
  • 19th February: Captain America Minion
  • 20th February: Marshall & Skye
  • 21st February: Peppa Pig

2. Hull Libraries Free Half-Term Activities

Hull Libraries are running free family-friendly sessions, including:

  • Wizarding Crafting – Creative magic-themed crafts
  • Lion Learners – Hands-on animal encounters
  • Spectac-u-lab – Fun science experiments
  • Interactive storytelling with Bethany Barton

These events are free, but tickets must be booked in advance.

3. East Riding Leisure Centre Activities

East Riding Leisure Centres are offering a variety of half-term activities, including fun swims, inflatables, crash course swimming lessons, and sports hall games. Check with your nearest centre for schedules and booking details.

4. Hull Museums Free Activities

Hull’s museums are hosting free, interactive sessions for children:

  • 17th February, 1–3 pm – Make a Mini Clay Pot at Hull and East Riding Museum
  • 18th February, 10 am–12 pm – Mini Masterpieces at Ferens Art Gallery, featuring sea-themed art activities for younger children

5. Half Term Heroes at Hornsea School and Language College

On 17th February at 10 am, primary school children can enjoy an action-packed day full of fun games, challenges, and competitions at Hornsea School and Language College. More info here.

6. East Riding Theatre Workshops

The East Riding Theatre in Beverley is hosting drama workshops:

  • Youth Drama Workshop (18th February) – Improvisation and storytelling for ages 8-12
  • Teen Acting Masterclass (19th February) – Scene work and character development for ages 13-17

7. Treasure House, Beverley – Art and Craft Sessions

Children can get creative at the Treasure House in Beverley with these sessions:

  • 20th February – “Crafty Creatures” (animal-themed crafts)
  • 21st February – “Art Explorers” (exploring different art techniques)

Sessions are free, but booking is required.

8. Hull Museums: Interactive Exhibitions

Hull Museums has hands-on exhibitions running throughout half-term, including:

  • “Maritime Marvels” – Showcasing Hull’s seafaring history with interactive displays
  • “Sea Life Sketching” (19th February) – A guided drawing session featuring marine artifacts

9. Sewerby Hall and Gardens: Family Fun Days

Near Bridlington, Sewerby Hall is running half-term activities such as:

  • 18th February – “Explorer Day” (guided nature walks and scavenger hunts)
  • 20th February – “Historical Reenactment” (living history performances)

10. Beverley & District Motor Club: East Riding Stages Rally

On 23rd February, motorsport fans can experience the excitement of the East Riding Stages Rally, hosted by the Beverley & District Motor Club. Expect thrilling action as rally cars race through East Yorkshire.
