The Outstanding Vineyard Just a Few Miles from Beverley

Little Wold Vineyard, located in South Cave, just 13 miles from Beverley, has become one of Yorkshire’s most successful wine producers. Established in 2012, the vineyard now spans over 12 acres and produces more than 30,000 vines annually. It operates a full-scale winery on site and has built a reputation for quality within the competitive English wine sector.

The vineyard produces a focused range of still and sparkling wines. These include:

  • Barley Hill White – a dry white wine, clean and well-balanced.
  • Chalk Hill White – light, with floral and citrus characteristics.
  • Poppy Hill Rosé – dry, fruit-forward, made with Pinot Noir.
  • Three Cocked Hat – a red wine produced in limited quantities and awarded a Silver Medal by Wines of Great Britain.

All production is managed on-site, from harvest to bottling, following the installation of a dedicated winery in 2022. This has allowed for tighter control over quality and consistency, and eliminated the need to outsource processing.

Little Wold also operates as a visitor destination. Public tours are available throughout the year and include guided walks of the vineyard and tutored tastings. A series of events are also hosted in its Tasting Room, including blind tastings, cheese pairings, seasonal food evenings, and private functions.

Upcoming events listed include:

  • Vineyard Tours (dates throughout June and July)
  • Friday Tasting Nights with themed food and wine pairings
  • Seasonal Workshops – including Christmas wreath making later in the year

Full event details are available on the vineyard’s website: www.littlewoldvineyard.co.uk/events

Little Wold Vineyard also offers a Wine Club, providing early access to new releases, discounts, and exclusive member events. Wines are available to purchase on-site and through the vineyard’s online shop.

The business continues to expand its production capacity and event offerings, while maintaining a focus on small-batch, site-specific winemaking rooted in the chalk soils of the Yorkshire Wolds.
