HULL – The Ramonas, the UK’s long-standing tribute to The Ramones, will perform at Hull’s Polar Bear Music Club on Friday 2 May as part of a 2025 tour showcasing both classic punk material and their own original songs.
Formed in 2004, the band began as a faithful recreation of the Ramones’ early shows — short, fast-paced sets delivered with minimal fuss. Over time, they’ve developed into a serious live act with their own catalogue, balancing tribute with progression. Their original material, including tracks from upcoming album Haphazard, sits comfortably alongside the Ramones’ enduring staples such as Blitzkrieg Bop and Sheena Is a Punk Rocker.
This appearance at the Polar Bear — a venue known for championing independent and alternative acts — offers audiences a chance to hear both sides of the band: the tribute that made their name, and the writing that’s kept them creatively relevant.
About the Band
The Ramonas occupy a rare space in the tribute band world. Rather than rely solely on replication, they’ve evolved into a group with their own voice. Since 2016, they’ve released several EPs and albums — First World Problems, Speak Up, The Daily Fail — all rooted in the same raw energy and political sharpness that characterised the punk scene they honour.
Their shows are lean and fast, structured around the discipline of early punk: no solos, no encore culture, just a focused burst of sound and movement.
