On Saturday, 22nd February, from 5:00 pm to 8:15 pm, Hull Central Library on Albion Street will transform into an enchanted realm filled with mystical activities. From a magical sorting ceremony to meeting birds of prey, there’s an abundance of spellbinding entertainment to enjoy.
Expect to dive into:
- A magical sorting ceremony
- Hands-on animal handling
- Spellbinding talks, including the eerie history of Hull’s witch trials
- Exclusive illustration session with Eleanor Tomlinson, renowned for her Jubilee ‘Ma’amalade Tea’ artwork
- Wand making, crafts, and creative writing
- Virtual reality wizarding experiences
- Magical bingo and chess
- Screen printing, air-dry pottery, and witches’ herbal spell bottles
For those looking to add an extra dash of enchantment, cocktail making and flower arranging can be booked as optional add-ons.
Tickets are priced at £10, with free carer tickets available for disabled attendees. Booking is essential via Hull Libraries’ Eventbrite page. This event is strictly 18+, and an onsite bar will be serving alcohol, so ID checks will be in place.
Councillor Rob Pritchard, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Leisure at Hull City Council, shared his excitement: “Hull Libraries’ Wizarding Nights have been a staple in the city’s events calendar. This new adult-only evening, packed with magical activities, promises to be an unforgettable experience for the local community.”
