Chris Todd Poised to Take the Helm as Humberside’s New Chief Constable

EAST RIDING – Humberside Police is set for a leadership change as Chris Todd has been named the preferred candidate for Chief Constable. The announcement was made by Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison following an intensive selection process, during which Todd emerged as the unanimous choice.

Currently serving with the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Todd brings a wealth of experience in policing, leadership, and operational command. His career has spanned a variety of senior roles, with a strong focus on tackling crime, improving community safety, and driving innovation in policing. His appointment marks a significant moment for Humberside Police, a force that has gained national recognition for its performance in recent years.

Jonathan Evison expressed confidence in Todd’s ability to continue the force’s upward trajectory, highlighting his strategic vision and commitment to delivering high-quality policing. “Chris Todd has demonstrated the leadership, experience, and dedication required to take Humberside Police forward,” Evison said. “I am confident he will continue to build on the excellent work already being done to keep our communities safe.”

The appointment is now subject to approval by the Humberside Police and Crime Panel, which is set to meet in March. If confirmed, Todd will replace the outgoing Chief Constable and take on the responsibility of leading the force at a time of evolving challenges in law enforcement.

With a reputation for effective leadership and a deep understanding of modern policing, Todd’s arrival is expected to bring fresh momentum to the force’s commitment to crime reduction, public confidence, and community engagement.
